Attorney Young-woo’s father was an unflappable individual – so much so that it drove her away from law practice altogether.
He corrupted judges and even became angry with his juniors for correcting him on legal jargon, it was quite saddening. Furthermore, he blackmailed her by making threats that prevented her from becoming a lawyer herself.
Who is Young Woo’s mother?
Young Woo’s mother Tae Su-mi was an outstanding lawyer with an impeccable track record, graduating from one of Korea’s most esteemed law universities with distinction. A woman ahead of her time, Tae fought tirelessly for disabled rights until becoming pregnant herself – only then to be emotionally blackmailed into keeping the child and promises of taking care after its arrival from an abusive partner who promised they’d support and leave when its due date arrived.
Now, she works at Hanbada Law Firm as a rookie attorney, facing many challenges on the work front. Although she struggles socializing, she excels at her job thanks to her high IQ, creative thought process, and incredible memory – yet has to contend with Min-Woo and Joon Ho’s schemes as well as any budding romance they might spark off with each other. Still, she proves herself more than capable, showing empathy when caring for clients as she’s one of her key assets as an attorney.
Who is Woo’s father?
Park Eun-bin’s character Young-woo is Korea’s inaugural lawyer on the autism spectrum. After attending top law school summa cum laude, but failing to secure placement due to her autism, Young-woo’s father Gwang-ho gave up his career and now runs a gimbap restaurant as she raises herself alone.
He’s a good father in his own way, setting aside his dreams to help raise his daughter. And his sacrifice pays off when she secures employment at one of the second-best firms in town.
Her rivals are more competitive than supportive of Young-woo. One is Min-woo (Joo Joon-hee), an associate at Hanbada who’s more aggressive towards Young-woo and actively plots against her. Yet Young-woo has managed to be successful despite her inexperience by using her knowledge of whale facts to win cases and also act as role model to disabled youth she encounters; making Extraordinary Attorney Woo a captivating and heartwarming drama; it provides insight into a world which often remains frustratingly imbalanced and complex.
Who is Woo’s stepmother?
Young Woo’s mother is an attorney at Taesan Law Firm and became impressed with Young Woo after she showed promise in cases. Although she didn’t know that Young Woo was her daughter, she still attempted to poach her for Taesan threatening that she’d leave Korea unless she could.
Young Woo is introduced to her birth mother through an adoption case and learns of her half brother. Their mother tried blackmailing Young Woo into not telling him about himself but Young Woo remained uncoerced in telling him the news.
Park Eun-bin has done an outstanding job portraying a rookie attorney on TV Drama “Mystery Box”. Her refreshing acting has brought new life into the show and her characters have quickly become beloved staples. I can’t wait to see what comes next from this talented young actress and I sincerely hope she receives all of the recognition she so rightly deserves!
Who is Woo’s stepfather’s mother?
Extraordinary Attorney Woo has always had a distinctive approach to case-solving and managed to balance drama, humor and progressive thinking in all her cases. Even cases you might not find as captivating can benefit from Extraordinary Attorney Woo’s approach: such as when wardrobe malfunction at a wedding led to championing queer love or an episode about workplace sexism that was unexpectedly subtle.
After successfully landing her first job through family connections at Hanbada, she quickly progresses thanks to her photographic memory and extraordinary IQ – quickly rising through the ranks to management despite suffering painful memories from her past. But her happiness remains marred by painful memories from her past.
Young-woo is surprised to learn that her birth mother, Seung-hee, has an affair with Young-woo’s stepfather that they’re keeping secret – an unexpected development which causes Young-woo to reconsider her relationship with him and focus on developing her career and potential romances with colleagues instead. We hope the next season will explore this dynamic between them more fully.
